World's largest chip upgraded again

The latest Wafer Scale Engine2 chip (hereinafter referred to as WSE-2) has a record 2.6 trillion transistors and 85,000 AI-optimized cores.
In an interview with foreign media VentureBeat, company founder Feldman said, "WSE-2 is a chip built on a complete wafer for supercomputer tasks, made with a high-end 7nm process, meaning the width between circuits is 7 billionths of a meter. With this miniaturization, Cerebras can cram more transistors into the same 12-inch wafer. It cuts round wafers into 8-inch by 8-inch squares and ships devices in that form. We were aggressive in scaling the geometry, and we made a series of microarchitectural improvements that more than doubled the number of cores and transistors on the chip, with 123 times more cores, 1,000 times more chip memory, 12,000 times more memory bandwidth real ale, and 45,000 times more structural bandwidth. In comparison, the largest graphics processing unit (GPU) has only 54 billion transistors -- 2.55 trillion fewer transistors than WSE-2. WSE-2 also has 123 times more cores and 1,000 times more high-performance on-chip high memory than its GPU competitors."
The WSE-2 chip now replaces clusters of hundreds or thousands of graphics processing units (GPUs) that consume dozens of racks, use hundreds of kilowatts of power, and take months to configure and program. at only 26 inches tall, the WSE-2 can fit in a third of a standard data center rack.
